Phnom Penh International Airport. After convincing the officer that 12 X 5 = 180 and that 179.5kg is lesser than 180kg, we were off. One moment we were fastening our seatbelts and watching the stewardess attempt to inflate her life vest, and the next thing you know, the wheels hit the ground. Welcome to Bangkok.

We met up with the rest of the Singapore team and said our temporary goodbyes to the Chiang Mai team. The Somprasong church youth were at the airport to help us get to the church building. From the Somprasong church, we traveled on the BTS to Chatuchak market. Bugis street would be put to shame standing next to it. Rows of shops, shops and more shops, the girls had a blast, the guys had their laughs. Budgets exceeded, we met back at church, a delectable meal of sticky rice with barbecued beef and pork that went wonderfully well with a special coriander sauce.

After the yummylicious meal, it was devo time. Everyone headed upstairs and to my surprise, the Thais had graciously led the whole devotional in English. Kenneth and Aka shared on different topics and then it was game time. Even Uncle Paul played! After all the activities, we went to our rooms to get ready for bed. While we were laying out sleeping bags, eyes half-closed, the Thais were preparing for sports day. Balloons bursting, the shaking of spray cans, orders being given the sounds slowly faded away as one by one, we fell fast asleep, thanks to Mr. Chou. (refer to The Joyluck Club)
