SOYMILK + C: Day 9 (28 Nov, Wednesday)

As soon as it reached 7.45 am, we got everyone to pack ourselves like canned sardines into the trucks. Our destination was a shop selling stuff like blankets and pajamas owned by Titan’s parents. We went there to collect 50 pieces of blankets (for distribution to the hill tribe people), and then waited as the girls soon took interest in the different pajamas available. Titan’s dad then brought us to have our breakfast at a food stall which was a walking distance from his shop. Everyone had a choice between porridge and rice with a variety of dishes.

The next stop was the canteen at Payap University. Our task was to talk and get to know some students and invite them to the different activities that were going to take place at the Payap zone. All went well, as the students were receiving and very open to strangers intruding into their lunches. The hardest part was starting the conversations, but to keep it going was the total reverse. You could talk about almost anything with them. When the conversations started to taper off we started collecting names, email addresses and contact numbers. Agreeing to come to the various activities planned, they made a move back to their classes. This also meant that it would be back to the zone for us.

We started and got over with our team devotional quickly and then some “helped” the Thais in the cooking. Dinner was huge, had lots of leftovers. A huge Winnie the Pooh cake was then revealed. It was to celebrate Auntie Jan’s belated 40th birthday. After all of us had our fill, we headed down to join in the Payap students’ cell group. Veronica, Sheena and Shermaine who shared their experiences of how they came to Christ. More fellowship time followed; some around the table tennis table, at the sofas chatting and at the milk stall.
